Portrait of Melissa Storey, Profile Picture Melissa Storey Photography North and South Carolina Wedding Photographer

Hey, I'm Melissa

I was born and raised in a small town right in the middle of Germany called Bad Hersfeld. I am the youngest of 6, so early on, family has been a huge part of my life.

Growing up, you would have found me scrolling through the internet, hours over hours, pinning together my dream life (which included American houses and DIY projects).

I’ve always had a creative side. So you can’t imagine the excitement that I had when my Dad gave me my first camera for Christmas! And the fun began!

With 18, I decided to take my love for family and the US and became an Au Pair. I didn’t only get to learn so many valuable life lessons, but I also got to meet my husband Brad.

woot woot

After my Au Pair time we started a long distance relationship that led to a sunset proposal on Huntington Beach in CA. We got married on a – what felt like a perfect spring afternoon – in the summer of 2017.

Even though the decision of leaving my roots to live across the pond was really hard, I now not only have 1, but 2 families (and countries) I get to call home!

And here I am. Pursuing photography with families that love me and husband that supports me, while building a home for our own family. Looking back, God has been slowly piecing together my life’s dreams. And I am beyond thankful!

My love language is quality time. I enjoy the little meaningful moments. And those are exactly the kind of moments I love to capture.
I believe that your story is meant to be told. I believe that a beautiful way of telling your story is by letting me capture those moments.

I would be honored to be able to help you tell your stor(e)y. And I didn’t just say that because I have a really cool last name! 😉

Making memories

The ones that you will look back at in 5 years and wonder why the time has flown by so fast.

Gallery walls

So you can take time to remember every time you walk past it. Those photos are too precious to be sitting on your hard drive.

Give me all the neutrals

White, grey, blush, olive green. I get inspired by timeless textures, maxi dresses and hats.

We might be

a great fit

if

meaningful over superficial

If I would have to choose between a date at the steak house, or a  candlelight picnic at the place we met, I would choose the picnic.

grace over judgment

In the world that we live in, I think it is so important to build each other up in grace and love. The world needs more of that!
