You can’t imagine how excited I was to get a call from my dear friend to take their family photos this year! Why? Cause this session was officially a destination session for me! I’ve photographed their family a few times back in Chicago. Now, since we moved to the Carolina’s, I was honored to travel back to good old Chicago for these

fall family photos

Capturing the small and the big moments in life is my favorite thing to do.

We decided on a location we haven’t used for their family photos before, LeRoy Oaks Forest Preserve in St Charles, IL. One of my favorites!

From scheduling the session up until meeting at the forest preserve, we needed to be flexible and creative. Not only was it supposed to rain all weekend long, but the time we chose for our session, also had a cross country school event happening at the same location. But we didn’t let that ruin our plans.

We chose to schedule an early morning session to avoid rain and managed to still get great backdrops, without getting run over 😀

The odd’s were against us, but we didn’t just manage to get through it, we rocked it! Look for yourself!

My favorite part about the session? I officially got called “best friend” by their cutie of a daughter! 😀
